London is full of buzzing vegan restaurants, and they’re not all about salads
Going vegan can seem all too easy…until you are confronted with a burger. But that shouldn’t be a deal-breaker with these great vegan fast food places in London.
Mooshie’s burger bar, London
Mooshie’s made the leap from pop-up to permanent plant-based vegan bar last year. And the result so far have been pretty good. The menu has three core burgers: the fillet-om-phish (battered aubergine, mooshie’s tartar sauce, nori seaweed, vegan cheese and lettice), what’s your beef? (quinoa and black bean burger, vegan cheese, gherkin and lettice) and the pulled mooshie (jackfruit, barbecue sauce and coleslaw). You can also buy vegan brownies and vegan beer.
Founders John and Nelly say they want to be ‘a catalyst for many more vegans young and old to embrace their life choice but also enjoy being alive’. They aim to become ‘London’s ‘Cheat Day’ treat, for both Vegans and Non Vegans’ – offering burgers that are ‘just that bit more healthy than most other non vegan food’.

VX, King’s Cross
London’s original vegan shop. VX sells an array of vegan products and clothes and serves up a ‘vegan junk food’ menu. Kebabs, burgers and curry wurst are all on offer.
Their mission is ‘to promote a cruelty-free vegan lifestyle without sacrificing taste…veganism should never be a brown rice and lentil hell or a flavourless penance.’ We’re definitely with them on that.

Loving Hut, Edgware
Loving Hut is a Chinese takeaway with the motto ‘good for you, good for the animals, good for the environment’.
Go there for an extensive vegan menu (not only one vegan dish option!) and relaxed atmosphere.
It’s part of an international chain of more than 100 vegan restaurants – the brainchild of vegan advocate Supreme Master Ching Hai.
Our personal favourites: the Hainanese style vegetarian chicken and the crispy shredded vegan beef.
236 Station Rd, Edgware HA8 7AU
There’s also another Loving Hut Branch in Archway. 669 Holloway Rd, Archway, London N19 5SE
